From the Cradle
I was moved by this story (Rescuing Hug) because I realize that we are the same at the end of our lives as we are at the beginning and each of us needs to be touched. I just had the experience of moving my father to Phoenix to live with my sister. There are a lot of people in her home and now my father is so happy because there is someone for him to talk to and hug every day. I expect living with my sister is going to add at least 5 years to his 88 years. Much research has been done in regard to so called "Blue Zones" where people live longer and without fail the common thread between all these places is how the older people are active parts of the community. Always remember that we need to connect from birth to transition. Reach out and touch someone today.
